Pandemic Encouragement

It’s easy to become overwhelmed by the negativity that currently fills our space … this virus, death, isolation, fear, financial hardships, and social disparity to name a few. As we are sojourning through this pandemic we need to focus on all that is going well in our lives. We need to silence the noise that seeks to invade the minds of this nation by focusing in on the things often overlooked.

The breath of life that is still within us. The provisions that God has allowed to keep us from being left without necessities such as food and shelter. The grace that has been extended to face these troublesome times.

Fellow brothers and sisters, when anxiety comes and you find it hard to remain positive, I encourage you stop, take a deep breath and understand that this too shall pass.

As children of God, we must find identity in God and not in the stability of this world by pointing out the obvious … there is NO stability in this world. Unless we be planted like a tree, we will abide in a state of confusion, delusion, and disarray. “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8 We cannot be like that tree if we fail to do as the scripture commands … trust in the Lord and place our confidence in Him.
